Answer:

a. Life was tough with traditional plastic buckets because women and children had to carry heavy buckets of water on their heads for long hours which often caused injuries.

b. Pettie, Petzer and Johan Jonker designs the hippo roller which made the lives of Africans women easier.

c. Life straw is a long thin plastic tube that cleans the water as  if passes through it into somebody's mouth.

d. Life straw was used in Haiti, Pakistan and Thailand during disasters.

e. Simon Berry designed the AidPod because he noticed that people in the remotest villages of Zambia could buy cocacola but not medicine and one of five children were dying before their fifth birthday due to a lack of access to medicines.

f. Simon Berry hopes to achieve to do the same in other African countries and save thousands of lives with the Aid pod.

 

D. Which of the inventions mentioned above do you think is the most relevant in your locality? Talk to your friends. Give reasons.

Answer:

I think life straw is the most relevant in my locality because there are still many places in the world, including my locality where people do not have access to clean and safe drinking water.
