Writing (page 144)

A. Read the report based on the given information in the table.

B. Now, write a similar paragraph based on the given information in the table below.

Answer:

This is a table. It gives information about the price of stationery items. The price of Pilot pen is NRs 80 per piece. Similarly, the price of Gel pen is NRs 30. According to the table we can say that the price of Pencil box is NRs 100. The table shows that the price of Geometry box is NRs 150. The price of Ruler is NRs 40 and the price of Marker is NRs 50. Among these items Geometry box is the most expensive and Gel pen is the least expensive one. Pilot pen is double expensive than Ruler.

B. What do you mean by discount? Talk to your friends.

Answer

Discount is an offer of paying less amount of money while buying goods.  We have to pay less if there is a discount. Discount is offered generally on different occasions or festivals. As the name suggests ‘dis’ means less and ‘count’ means number or amount. So, there is less pay if the discount is offered. Generally, it is offered in percent or fixed amount to pay which is reduced than actual market price.
